Southern Sports Academy Cycling Squad members , Jeremy Scott and Cameron Scott, are set to represent NSW is differing events over the coming days. Jeremy has been selected in the NSW Team to contest the Oceania Road Championships in Shepparton from 17-20 March, whilst Cameron will be representing NSW at the Australian Junior Track titles at Dunc Gray velodrome in Sydney from 18-20 March.
The talented Scott brothers have already excelled at State level previously and it is widely tipped that both Jeremy and Cameron have the attributes required to exceed at the very highest level.
“Cameron is only a first year Academy Scholarship holder and as such he has a long way to go in the sport. However, on what I have seen of him and based on his already impressive list of achievements, he is the most talented young rider we have had in the Academy program for many years.” Academy Executive Director, Greg McLay said.
“Jeremy entered our Academy program three years ago as a promising young rider with a good work ethic. His performances in the past 18 months have exceeded all expectations. He is a tremendous young man and an endurance cyclist of the highest calibre. I would not be at all surprised to see him competing in Europe in the not too distant future.” McLay also said.
Cameron will contest the sprint events at the Australian Titles including the team sprint and is highly fancied to come home with a medal from the Nationals.
Jeremy will join a 4 person NSW team for the International road title in Shepparton, which will be held on Sunday. Jeremy will also compete in the Time Trial on Thursday.
